Spectators for the 6 day

Why be a spectator at the Six Day?
  1. For the Speed
Track cycling is very much a spectator sport - especially at an indoor track. The action is fast and furious, with this international field clocking speeds from 50 to 70 km/hr. Every 11-13 seconds an elite rider will pass in front of the stands. With up to 25 riders on the track at once, there is plenty to see.

  2. For The Madison the Madison exchange
Perhaps the best spectator race in track cycling is the Madison, where teams of two riders tag off every couple laps. As with a baton relay in track and field, the exchange is crucial. The current racer grabs the hand of his/her partner and sling-shots him/her ahead. Not only speed, but a steady bike and good balance are crucial for good results in the Madison. Check out the Schedule to see when the Madisons are being run.

  3. For the music and beer
Cost for admission is $5 / night or $20 /week. For this, you get a live band (Dec 31st, Jan 4,5th from 8PM to 10PM), and access to a food and beverage garden (every night). With track-side seating, the entertainment value cannot be beat.

  4. To support your favourite rider
Yes, that buddy, family member, boyfriend, or wife will be happy to see you in the stands cheering them on.
